Prospective Marriage Visa (subclass 300)
This visa allows you to come to Australia to marry your prospective spouse or partner. You must be sponsored by your prospective spouse.
Relationship Criteria
You must have met your prospective spouse since both turning 18
You should not be related to your prospective spouse
Should marry within 9 months of the visa being granted
Should not be married to anyone when a decision is made.
Intend to live as a spouse after you are married
Partner Visa (subclass 820 and subclass 801)
This visa is for you, if you are outside Australia.
This visa is a 2-stage process. The temporary Partner visa (subclass 820) is granted first and allows you to stay in Australia while the permanent Partner visa (subclass 801) is being processed. The application for both the temporary and permanent visas is made at the same time.
To apply for this category of Partner visa, you must be in Australia to lodge the application and for the decision of the temporary Partner visa.
You can be in or outside Australia when a decision is made on the permanent Partner visa (subclass 801). You are eligible to be assessed for the permanent partner visa about 2 years after your initial application was lodged and would be asked to provide further evidences confirming you relationship.
You need to be sponsored by your partner by completing a sponsorship application and submitting relevant evidences.
Partner Visa (subclass 309 and subclass 100)
This visa is for you, if you are outside Australia.
This visa is a 2-stage process. The temporary Partner visa (subclass 309) is granted first and allows you to stay in Australia while the permanent Partner visa (subclass 100) is being processed. The application for both the temporary and permanent visas is made at the same time.
